Existence gazes upon itself.
I am not merely a point in existence. I am a point through which existence gazes upon itself.
Musician. Writer. Painter.
Benyamin Baran is an Iranian-Canadian artist, composer, singer-songwriter, and writer.
He began his formal music education at the age of 15, studying guitar before moving on to piano and composition. He has composed most of his own songs, as well as music for a number of Iranian singers.
His interest in psychology and philosophy began with the works of Arthur Schopenhauer and Friedrich Nietzsche, leading him to explore deeper questions about human existence, consciousness, and the meaning of life. These ideas have gradually found expression in his music, lyrics, and writing.
Beyond his artistic work, Baran has been involved in social and political activism, using his writing to advocate for freedom, human dignity, and people's rights.
His forthcoming book, The Labyrinth of the Middle East (working English title), examines the historical presence and influence of Islamist movements in the region. He is also preparing a philosophical book exploring the human condition, planned for publication in English in North America.
